Actress Trisha Krishnan is a prominent Indian film actress and one of the most well-known names in the Tamil and Telugu film industry.
Trisha was born on the 4th of May 1983 in Pallakad, Kerala, India.
Her complete name is "Trisha Krishnan" and her nick name is "Honey".
Her father name is "Krishnan" and mother is "Uma Krishnan". She is a Tamil/Malayalee Brahmin. She speaks English, Hindi, Tamil and French.
Trisha got her early education from Church Park School and pursued her higher education in Ethiraj College, Chennai. Later, she modelled and won Miss Salem in 1999, Miss Chennai in 1999 and Miss India Miss Beautiful Smile in 2001.
In school, she participated in several cultural activities, sports and school band. Trisha is said to be a good ballet dancer. She studied in the same school as former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha..
She started her career as a model, appearing in many TV advertisements including that of Fair and Lovely and Josco Jeweller. She also starred in Falguni Pathak's music album Meri Chunar Ud Ud Jaye.
Trisha Krishnan first made her debut in films when she was offered a small cameo in the film Jodi.
However, the first movie in which she signed up to enact the role of the leading lady was Priyadarshan's "Leysa Leysa". A string of flops marked the beginning of her career, such as Manasellam, and Alai. However she was well suited for her role opposite Surya in Mounam Pesiyadhe and won critical acclaim. She is well acclaimed for her facial expressions while acting. She then played Vikram's lady love in the mega blockbuster Saamy. The next huge film she took part in followed immediately afterwards, was Ghilli with Vijay, which was a remake of Telugu blockbuster Okkadu.
In 2004, she was introdcued to telugu people through "Varsham" which went on to become the biggest hit of the year and turned her into an overnight sensation. In 2005, she starred alongside Siddharth in the telugu flick "Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana" as the village girl Siri. Trisha won two awards for this film which include the Filmfare Award and Nandi Award.
Among her hobbies are listening to music, reading and swimming. She is a good ballet dancer.
Trisha wanted to debut in the film industry with the name Suhasini. 5′8″ height of Trisha worked as the Brand Ambassador for Fanta India, Scooty Pep+ and also did commercial for Perk chocolate. She is also the brand ambassador for Fiama Di Wills, a product by ITC.
She was crowned Miss Chennai in the year 2000 and won Miss Salem in the year 1999 and won Miss India Beautiful Smile in 2001.
She won the “Vijay TV Most Favourite Actress” in year 2006. She received Kalaimamani award from TamilNadu state govt in 2006. She received Nadhi Award from Andhra goverment in 2006.
Trisha’s first movie in Bollywood ‘Khatta Meetha’ opposite to Akshay Kumar. The film directed by Priyadarshan, which is remake of Priyadarshan’s Malayalam original- ‘Vellanakalude Nadu’ that was made in 1989 and starred Mohanlal, Shobana.
In 2004, Trisha found unwanted fame as the subject of a sleazy MMS allegedly showing her nude in the shower. She claimed the person in the video was a 'body double'. However, the scandal did help her become the most sought after actress in Tamil movies during 2005.
The actress landed herself in a drug scandal when a recent report on a Telugu channel claimed that she is into drug abuse and is closely associated with a drug peddler from Nigeria. Trisha, on the other hand, believes that she is being dragged into this controversy only because she is a good friend of Sidney Sladen, a designer of African origin, whom the channel is accusing of being a Nigerian drug dealer.
However Trisha dismisses all the rumours against her in drugs case. Trisha said that she was no where related to this drugs issue and all the news against her is all false.
Trisha has been in news several times for her unabashed behaviour in the night parties of Star Hotels and in the midnight get-together in the East Coast Road, Chennai. She has also been gossiped for her closeness with boyfriends. In 2009 alone, she was gossiped that she was dating with Sydney, a fashion designer and then, with Abhiyum Naanum & Unnai Pol Oruvan fame Ganesh Venkatram, a Cardiologist by profession.
There were hushed reports that Trisha and her friends had attended a party on the East Coast Road next to South Chennai. Their behavior was, well, not dignified to say the least. Booze had flowed freely and they were reportedly hauled up by the police.
Most producers and directors who worked with her say she is almost addicted to Alcohol. She mostly attends parties with her friends and a group of stars and directors in Tollywood or Kollywood.
Trisha hogged the headlines for her brawl with cricketer Hemang Badani at a nightclub in Chennai. After finishing couple of drinks, Trisha, in her high spirits, was reportedly hurled abuses at the cricketer and also went close for a physical fight.
