Heera Rajgopal also known simply as Heera was a popular South Indian actress in the 1990s. Heera is an actress known for her glamour, her hobbies are collecting shoes, mugs and swimming.

Heera was born on 29th December, 1971 in Chennai.

Her real name is Heera Rajgopal and her nick name is Janani. Her father C.S. Rajagopal is an Indian Army doctor.

Her childhood was that of a military family’s somewhat nomadic life, moving every few years between states in India. Strictness and regimented routine governed her childhood.

She got her degree from WCC. She was approached to model while still in high school and one assignment led to another. She had opportunities to work with established agencies and companies. .


She was in collage, at the time and part of a modeling assignment, she debut in Tamil film, Idhayam in which she played an undergraduate medical student was a commercial success. The film was released in 1991.

Since then, she starred in many films with stars like Kamal Haasan, Ajith Kumar, Prashanth, and so on.

She gave notable performances in films like Sathi Leelavathi, Kadhal Kottai, etc.

Despite her glamorous looks she was not offered much hyped roles to perform. Decreasing film offers led her to quit film industry.

She usually played supporting roles.


She also appeared in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam movies too.

Her Bollywood debut movie is Amaanat, released in 1994. Her co-actors in this movie are - Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Kanchan. Her other bollywood flicks are Aur Ek Prem Kahani, Mr. Bechara.

In 1997, she appearance in Telugu movie – Aahawanam. Later she appear in few Tollywood movies.

In 1993 she married Nikhil Murthy. However they were separated in 1995.

After divorcing Nikhil Murthy, in 2002 she married Pushkar Natu. She has moved to Africa with her new husband and 3 kids. She is currently working on a project with project Boori. many thought that she would have a wonderfull career in cinema with her acting potential. but she faded away amidst lack of opportunities.
