Bubbly actress Arthi Agarwal - Biography



Bubbly actress Aarthi Agarwal born March 5, 1984 in New Jersey, U.S. She is an Indian actress mostly appeared in Tollywood.

Her parents are Shasank Agarwal and Dena Agarwal. Aarti Agarwal have one younger sister Adithi Agarwal, who has joined in films. She speaks English and Gujarati.

She was brought up in New Jersey until the age of 14. Sunil Shetty invited her to dance on stage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA when she was barely 14. Big B who was there too encouraged her father to take her to Bollywood. As a result, in 2011, she did her first film Paagalpan opposite Karan Nath wasn't well received.

She came to Tollywood instead, acted with all the stalwarts in the industry and firmly ensconced herself in the hearts of Telugu movie lovers across the globe. She did her first Tollywood movie Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, directed by K.Vijaya Bhaskar. She was cast opposite Venkatesh and the movie did well at the box office.


It was here that she accumulated enormous fame and recognition. Then, Aarti didn't looked back for atleast the next 5 or 6 films.

In 2002, she had another hit in hand with Indra, which also starred Sonali Bendre and Chiranjeevi.


She was the top heroin in tollywood in early 2000s. She is credited as golden leg of Tollywood. Aarthi has the distinction of being cast with Tollywood "fabfour" - Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Balakrishna and Venkatesh.

She has also acted with young dynamic heroes like Mahesh Babu, Jr. NTR, RaviTeja, Prabhas, Tarun and etc.

She even worked in the Tamil movie Bambara Kannaley. The film was released in 2005.

She did two films with Tarun which did well on the box office.However,some rumours began with her affair with her co-star Tarun. Because of this on 23 March, 2005 Aarti Agarwal attempted suicide by drinking bathroom cleaning liquid. However, it is not a serious one. Aarti discharged from the hospital on the same day.

Again, on February 15,2006, while she was coming back from dinner to her apartment, she fell while climbing the stairs, but made it to her second-floor apartment, where her father gave her painkillers. When she woke up the next day, her father called a doctor, who advised him to take her to hospital; she then underwent surgery at an hospital in Banjara Hills. 

Arthi Agarwal's younger sister Adithi Agarwal has also joined in films. Adithi's first appear in Allu Arjun's Gangotri.


The actress is also trained in Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Jazz. ‘Cliff Hanger’ and ‘A Walk to Remember’ are her favourite movies. Eating and roaming are her hobbies. She prefers Mexican and Italian delicacies. The lady likes talking to God.

Arti Agarwal was married to Ujwal Kumar at Secunderabad on November 22, 2007 and had subsequently applied for divorce in October 2009 and announced her re-entry into Tollywood.
